Continuing its investment in Lancaster County, Comcast completed the expansion of its smart, fast and reliable fiber-rich network to more than 160 homes and businesses in Colerain Township. The project adds to Comcast’s ongoing investment in Lancaster County and throughout eastern and central Pennsylvania.

These new customers in Lancaster County now have access to the full suite of Xfinity residential and Comcast Business services, including residential broadband Internet speeds of up to 1.2 gigabits per second (Gbps) for residences and up to 100 Gbps for businesses.

“We are proud to have the chance to be a part of bringing increased connectivity to the residents of Colerain Township and Lancaster County,” said Toni Murphy, Senior Vice President of Comcast’s Keystone Region. “Having access to a reliable network that delivers speed, security and functionality is a game changer when it comes to our day-to-day lives – making everything from ordering school supplies, to applying for jobs, or connecting with family that much easier and better.”

This is a great opportunity for everyone in Colerain Township, in particular students and future students who will have tools available to them to pursue their educational goals.”

“Colerain Township is thrilled to welcome Comcast to the community to provide residents and businesses with another option when selecting their Internet provider,” said Scott E. Shoemaker, Chairman of the Colerain Township Board of Supervisors. “This expansion will make Colerain Township an even more attractive place to live and work by ensuring access to a reliable network for everyone, which is more important than ever.”

For local businesses, Comcast Business offers a suite of connectivity, communications, networking, cybersecurity, wireless, and managed solutions to help organizations of different sizes prepare for what’s next. Powered by the nation’s largest Gig-speed broadband network, and backed by 24/7 customer support, Comcast Business is the nation’s largest cable provider to small and mid-size businesses and one of the leading service providers to the Enterprise market. Comcast Business has been consistently recognized by industry analysts and associations as a leader and innovator, and one of the fastest growing providers of Ethernet services.

From 2017-2021 alone, Comcast has invested nearly $20 billion to evolve and grow its national network and has built 50,000 new route miles of fiber into its network. This includes expansion to many new areas in central and eastern Pennsylvania, including Wilkes-Barre, Courtdale, Pringle, Ephrata, Lititz, Kingston,  and multiple municipalities in Luzerne, Berks, Columbia, Montour, Northumberland and Sullivan counties. And Comcast customers have been able to enjoy speed increases at no additional cost, the most recent of which was announced earlier this year.

This is a powerful example of a business using its resources and expertise to come alongside Tec Centro to amplify the community’s access to and effectiveness of our workforce development programs,” adds Marlyn Barbosa, Tec Centro’s Program Director.

Lift Zones complement Comcast’s Internet Essentials program, which, since 2011, has connected more than 10 million people in America to broadband Internet at home, including approximately 44,000 people in Lancaster County. Lift Zones and Internet Essentials are part of Project UP, Comcast’s comprehensive initiative to advance digital equity and help build a future of unlimited possibilities.
