Comcast has completed expansion of its smart, fast and reliable fiber-based network to the boroughs of Pringle and Courtdale, delivering its full suite of services to nearly 800 homes and businesses, including residential broadband speeds up to 1.2 gigabits per second (Gbps) and business speeds up to 100 Gbps.

These boroughs are part of Comcast’s ongoing network expansion in Luzerne County. The company is committed to serving the entire City of Wilkes-Barre by the end of this year, with thousands of homes and businesses already receiving Comcast’s services, and service to Larksville Borough is expected to begin this spring.

The Luzerne County service expansions are the company’s latest investment in northeastern Pennsylvania. In addition to the 2021 opening of its Plains Township Xfinity Store, Comcast expanded to Kingston Borough in 2020, last year completed its network extension to Eagles Mere and Laporte in Sullivan County and is now working on extensions to other areas of Sullivan County.

“We are proud to meet consumer demand by bringing Xfinity’s fiber-rich network with its reliable speeds and fast in-home WiFi experience to Pringle and Courtdale residents and businesses, and their response to our expansion has been very positive,” said Toni Murphy, Senior Vice President of Comcast’s Keystone Region. “We invite residents to see the value our service brings when they combine Xfinity Data and Xfinity Mobile.”

Residents and businesses in Pringle, Courtdale and Wilkes-Barre can check maps here to see if they are located in Comcast’s new service areas. If so, they can sign up for service by using the link accompanying the maps or by visiting the Xfinity Store at 1150 PA Route 315 in Plains Township, two miles northeast of Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza. Customers can also visit our Xfinity Store in Dickson City at 1128 Commerce Boulevard.

The experts at the Xfinity Store can help with product demonstrations and any questions new customers may have given their access to Gigabit internet service, unique home WiFi control capabilities with xFi, the award-winning Xfinity X1 video platform, Xfinity Flex for streamers, Xfinity Home, Xfinity Voice and Xfinity Mobile. They can also help local businesses in scheduling an informational meeting with the Comcast Business sales team, which can describe its popular Security Edge service or how to get connected at Ethernet network speeds up to 100 Gbps.

Prospective customers in eligible areas can also call 1-800-XFINITY to acquire service, ask about the Affordable Connectivity Program, which provides $30 per month to eligible families for internet service, or take advantage of the free inclusion of Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service, to enable them to stream every event live from the upcoming winter games to any device.

Comcast also offers Internet Essentials, the national’s largest and most comprehensive broadband adoption program, for $9.95 per month to provide low-cost broadband service, digital literacy training and discounted computers for low-income families.

Comcast’s recent community partnerships in Luzerne County include the 2021 installation of Lift Zones – free WiFi service in community spaces – at the Greater Pittston YMCA and the Lehman Sanctuary in Shavertown. These Lift Zones are part of Project UP, Comcast’s comprehensive, 10-year, $1 billion commitment to help build a future of unlimited possibilities and the continuation of the company’s long history of giving back to communities where it provides service and where its employees live and work.
