Comcast Awards $20,000 to the Spanish American Civic Association to Increase Digital Opportunity in Lancaster, PA
Grant Was Presented During the Sportsman Channel’s Hunt.Fish.Feed. Event As Comcast Volunteers Served Community Dinner to Local Residents
Comcast has announced a $20,000 grant award to the Spanish American Civic Association (SACA), a Lancaster-based nonprofit organization, to support its work in uplifting and restoring communities through human, economic, and social services.
“We’re grateful to Comcast for supporting our mission to build a stronger, more connected Lancaster,” said Jose R. Lopez, President and CEO of SACA. “This funding will help us expand access to vital resources and empower the families we serve every day.”
The grant was announced during a recent Comcast Team UP event in partnership with the Sportsman Channel at SACA’s Lancaster location. Team UP is Comcast’s always-on, 365-day-a-year national employee volunteer program.
Since 2007, the Sportsman Channel’s Hunt.Fish.Feed. initiative has provided more than 42,000 nutritious meals nationwide by transforming responsibly harvested wild game and fish for those facing food insecurity.
At the Lancaster event, more than 150 SACA members and local residents enjoyed a free, chef-prepared dinner. Chef Paul Comes, a seasoned wild game expert, led the kitchen with support from adult students in SACA’s culinary program and Comcast Team UP volunteers, who assisted with meal preparation and service.
“We’re proud to support Lancaster by bringing SACA and the Sportsman Channel together,” said Ricky Frazier Jr., Senior Vice President of Comcast’s Keystone Region. “As a company deeply rooted in this community, we understand the power of connection – through technology, digital skills training, and meaningful partnerships that open doors. Our donation and volunteerism reflect our commitment to building a Lancaster where everyone has the tools to succeed.”
