Comcast Begins Service to Colerain Township

2 months ago

Comcast today announced it has started providing its full suite of services, including residential broadband speeds up to 1.2 gigabits per second and business speeds up to 100 Gbps, to its first new customers in Colerain Township. Comcast is scheduled to complete the expansion of its smart, fast and reliable fiber-rich network to the township by the end of June 2022.

Colerain Township MapColerain Township residents and businesses can check here and if their address is shaded green on this map, they are already eligible for service today. If so, they can sign up for service by clicking this link, clicking “change location” and entering your address to view offers and order service or by visiting our Xfinity Store at 1571 Fruitville Pike in Lancaster. Experts at the Xfinity Store can help with product demonstrations and any questions new customers may have and can help local businesses schedule an informational meeting with the Comcast Business sales team.

Prospective customers in the township can also call 1-800-XFINITY to acquire service, ask about the Affordable Connectivity Program, which provides $30 per month benefit to eligible families for Internet service, or learn how to take advantage of the free inclusion of Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service.

“We are proud to extend our advanced, fiber-rich network deeper into Lancaster County,” said Greg Wells, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Comcast’s Keystone Region. “And we are committed to continue innovating around our entire suite of products and investing in our network as we know customers rely on us to keep them connected at home and on the go.”

Residential customers in Colerain Township will be able to take advantage of Xfinity’s full suite of Internet products, including:

  • Speeds up to 1.2 Gbps and advanced WiFi technology from powerful gateways capable of delivering those speeds to support the ever-increasing number of connected devices in homes;
  • xFi, a digital dashboard to control the home WiFi network that includes Advanced Security, helping to protect every device on the network from malware and security threats;
  • xFi pods, WiFi extenders that ensure stronger WiFi coverage throughout the home;
  • Xfinity Mobile, built for the way consumers use mobile today, with the Internet at the core of the experience, the top ranked service in customer satisfaction can save customers up to $400 a year on their mobile bills;
  • Flex, a free 4K platform for Internet-only customers that seamlessly delivers streaming content.

Since 2017 alone, Comcast has invested nearly $20 billion to strengthen and expand its national network – including building more than 50,000 new route miles of fiber. Investments like this also enable Comcast to provide Internet speed increases at no additional cost to customers on our most popular tiers, the most recent of which was announced last month.

Comcast’s expansion to Colerain Township is the company’s latest investment in central and eastern Pennsylvania. In Luzerne County, the company is continuing work on its network expansion in the city of Wilkes-Barre, where it is already serving new customers, and nearby Larksville while already having completed expansions to Kingston, Pringle and Courtdale. Comcast also recently completed network expansions to parts of Columbia, Northumberland and Montour counties as well as to Eagles Mere and Laporte in Sullivan County, where it is also currently working on an additional expansion south of those locations.

In addition to Lancaster County investments that improve the customer experience, Comcast invests in local communities and organizations like Tec Centro, one of nine sites in Lancaster County where Comcast has installed a WiFi-connected Lift Zone to help to connect low-income families to the Internet so they can fully participate in educational opportunities and the digital economy. In addition, Comcast has awarded 12 small businesses in central Pennsylvania technology and marketing services through the Comcast RISE program, including Beauty by Judelyne Wellness Spa in Lancaster.  Comcast RISE has provided over $60 million in grants, marketing and technology services to more than 6,700 small businesses owned by people of color – including Black, Indigenous, Hispanic and Asian Americans – since it launched in November 2020. Lift Zones and Comcast RISE are part of Project UP, Comcast’s comprehensive initiative to advance digital equity and help build a future of unlimited possibilities.
