Powering Pennsylvania’s Connectivity Progress

Comcast Construction

Comcast’s commitment to Pennsylvania runs deep. Pennsylvania is home to the company’s headquarters, and we are dedicated to delivering state-of-the art connectivity to individuals, families and businesses through our reliable network and innovative products and services.

We also understand the critical role a secure and reliable network plays in community development. In today’s digital age, fast and reliable Internet access is a must-have to help residents, businesses and community organizations stay connected to loved ones, take advantage of online educational and telehealth opportunities, and serve local customers.

Relentless Reliability

Comcast operates the nation’s largest, fastest, most trusted network. Through Xfinity and Comcast Business, we deliver world-class broadband, mobile and entertainment experiences that delight customers with technology that powers the future. Our commitment to Pennsylvania is strong, serving more than 1,500 municipalities and investing more than $12.1 billion in the last three years through capital expenditures, employee wages and benefits, taxes and fees, and nonprofit contributions.

Trusted by mission-critical organizations – including healthcare systems and universities in Pennsylvania – Comcast’s network powers essential community resources and businesses large and small. More than 5.2 million properties in Pennsylvania can access Xfinity and Comcast Business services, with ongoing expansions to new communities in Berks, Blair, Chester, Carbon, Schuylkill and Luzerne counties, Cranberry Township, Upper Saucon and more.

As Internet usage continues to skyrocket, Comcast’s network continues to get smarter, faster and more reliable to meet increasing customer demand for speed and capacity. That means enough capacity to handle more streaming, gaming, AI and cloud applications.

We continuously invest in and innovate our network to keep it resilient, secure and future-ready. Since 2019, we have invested more than $20 billion nationally in network infrastructure and technology. Our fiber-rich network delivers gig-speeds across our Pennsylvania footprint and across the country – and we continue our journey to roll out multi-gig symmetrical speeds over existing connections in homes today.

Security

While there has been a 300% increase in cyberattacks since the start of the pandemic, Comcast builds security into every layer of our network and products, protecting connected devices automatically.

Our team of thousands of cybersecurity analysts and engineers block tens of billions of cyberattacks every year.

Community Impact

Comcast is committed to creating positive change and a more inclusive society through Project UP, our $1 billion commitment to advance digital opportunity and help build a future of unlimited possibilities. Since 2021, we have donated more than $145 million in cash and in-kind contributions to Pennsylvania non-profits working to bridge the digital divide.

In addition to monetary grants, Pennsylvania residents also benefit from access to 176 Lift Zones across the Commonwealth. Lift Zones provide a robust – and free – WiFi solution in neighborhood locations like nonprofits, community centers, and parks and recreation facilities.

Since 2011, we have connected over two million Pennsylvania residents to home Internet service through Internet Essentials, our affordable, high-speed Internet for low-income households.

Powering Progress in Pennsylvania

We recognize more connectivity is needed throughout the state, and Comcast is working to provide that through effective public-private partnerships.

These partnerships allow us to connect rural parts of Pennsylvania. We’re demonstrating what strong partnership looks like by partnering with the Commonwealth to expand our network across 158 municipalities.

Comcast is also actively seeking to participate in the Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) program in Pennsylvania to ensure more residents can access the power of broadband at home.

By empowering Pennsylvanians with the tools and resources necessary to succeed in today’s digital world, we’re building a stronger, more connected future for all communities across the Commonwealth.
