PITTSBURGH, PA – August 15, 2018 – Comcast today announced that it has launched a new internet service that delivers speeds up to 1 Gigabit-per-second (Gbps) to residential and business customers in Williamsport, Lock Haven, Towanda and Huntingdon County and has extended this service in Blair County. These speeds are among the fastest and most widely available and include access to the nation’s largest Wi-Fi network of more than 19 million hotspots.
Comcast’s new 1 Gigabit Internet service uses DOCSIS 3.1 technology that makes it possible to deliver ultra-fast speeds over the existing communications lines that are already in most homes and neighborhoods. To enjoy the service, all customers need to do is install a new DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem.
In Blair County, this speed is now available in townships of Catherine and Woodbury. Comcast previously launched this speed to Blair County customers in Tyrone Borough and Snyder Township.
In Bradford County, this speed is available in the boroughs of Towanda and Munroe and the townships of Towanda, North Towanda, Wysox and Asylum.
In Clinton County, this speed is available in the boroughs of Lock Haven, Mill Hall, Flemington, Jersey Shore, Avis, Salladaburg, Renovo, South Renovo, Beech Creek and Loganton and the townships of Bald Eagle, Dunnstable, Woodward, Colebrook, Alison, Castanea, Piatt, Porter, Wayne, Watson, Pine Creek, Nippenose, Cummings, Mifflin, Chapman, Limestone, Noyes, Crawford, Beech Creek, Liberty, Curtin, Lamar, Walker and Green.
In Huntingdon, this speed is now available in the boroughs of Huntingdon, Newport, Alexandria, Marklesburg, Petersburg, Saxton, Coaldale, Broad Top, Coalmont, Dudley, Hopewell, Mill Creek and Williamsburg as well as the townships of Oliver, Juniata, Henderson, Hopewell, Liberty, Lincoln, Logan, Miller, Oneida, Penn, Porter, Smithfield, Walker, Broad Top, Carbon, Union, Wood, Brady, Wells and Morris.
In Lycoming County, this speed is available in the city of Williamsport; the boroughs of South Williamsport, Montoursville, Duboistown, Muncy, Hughesville, Picture Rocks, Montgomery, Jersey Shore, Renovo, South Renovo, Beech Creek, Mill Hall, Lock Haven and Loganton; and the townships of Loyalsock, Old Lycoming, Armstrong, Susquehanna, Woodward, Lycoming, Fairfield, Hepburn, Bastress, Muncy Creek, Piatt, Porter, Pine Creek, Limestone, Wolf, Muncy, Penn, Shrewsbury, Gregg, Brady, Delaware, Washington and Clinton.
