Comcast Celebrates New Xfinity Store in York with Ribbon Cutting, Grant Award to SCPa Works to Support Digital Opportunity in the County

Comcast recently celebrated the opening of a second Xfinity Store in York County, Pennsylvania with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony in partnership with the York County Economic Alliance.
Business leaders, local elected officials from West Manchester Township, state representatives and community organizations including SCPa Works, a non-profit that drives professional development locally, came together for the celebration.

“The new Xfinity Store provides residents and businesses with a convenient location to access the latest in connectivity and entertainment,” said Ron Ruman, Vice Chairman of West Manchester Township Supervisors. “New stores bring more jobs and reflect our healthy local economy, so ribbon-cuttings in West Manchester are always a pleasure.”
During the celebration, Comcast surprised SCPa Works with a $10,000 grant to further digital opportunity for youth and young adults navigating career exploration, by helping them build digital literacy skills like resume writing and job searching. The donation follows an award presented to the organization last year from Comcast and the U.S. Conference of Mayors to fund a cutting-edge reentry program for justice-impacted individuals.

“We are honored to have a partner in Comcast as we enhance the skill sets of our community, helping local businesses develop robust talent pipelines,” said Jesse McCree, CEO of SCPa Works. “Together, we are empowering York’s workforce and creating digital opportunity for all.”
The updated 3,000-square-foot storefront located at 810 Town Center Drive features an interactive design and provides a destination for visitors to experience the complete line of Xfinity products and services, access the NOW product portfolio of low-cost, prepaid Internet, Mobile and TV or discuss their business technology needs with a Comcast Business subject-matter expert.
“Since opening, the team has been busy providing an excellent customer experience while showcasing the latest innovations and offerings,” said Ricky Frazier Jr., Senior Vice President of Comcast’s Keystone Region. “We are proud to celebrate the new store location while continuing to give back to the local community.”
