We’re proud to be a part of the communities where we live and work.  During 2021, our investment in Carlisle – just one of the many communities in Comcast’s Keystone Region – included launching three WiFi-connected “Lift Zones” in the community as well as providing a Comcast RISE award to a Carlisle-based business. Recently, we opened a new Xfinity Store in Carlisle, giving customers more convenient access to see and experience Xfinity’s suite of products or interact with store staff.

In June, Comcast equipped three Lift Zones at the Carlisle Family YMCA, Hope Station and Cyberspace. The robust WiFi coverage Comcast will provide at these centers is expected to help hundreds of low-income students get online, participate in distance learning and do their homework. Sites are also available for adults, veterans and seniors to look for and apply for jobs, and to keep in touch with friends and family.

Carlisle’s Champion Law Office was one of nine businesses in central Pennsylvania who received a Comcast RISE technology makeover award. “When we launched Comcast RISE, we knew a profound need existed in many of the communities we serve,” said Aaron Mimran, VP for Comcast Business, Keystone Region. “We now have seen firsthand how the program’s marketing and technology resources benefit the business owners who are working hard to rise above 2020, as well as their neighbors who share their commercial corridors, and their suppliers and customers up and down the resource chains.”

Comcast RISE and Lift Zones are part of Project UP, Comcast’s comprehensive initiative to advance digital equity. The launch of Project UP in 2021 coincides with the 10th anniversary of Comcast’s Internet Essentials program, which has connected a cumulative total of more than 10 million people to the Internet at home – most for the very first time.

The new Xfinity Store at 264 Westminster Drive in Carlisle is our twelfth retail location in Central Pennsylvania. “Our newest Xfinity Store in Carlisle is an important part of our ongoing effort to improve the customer experience,” said Keystone Region Senior Vice President Toni Murphy. “Providing space for customers to learn more about our products in a more expansive, thoughtfully-designed store is what they expect from a technology leader like Comcast.

“Our employees can demonstrate the unmatched video experiences on our X1 platform; how Xfinity xFi uses the fastest internet speeds and AI-powered security to transform the home Wi-Fi experience; the Xfinity Flex streaming platform for broadband-only customers; a growing network of Xfinity Home smart home devices and services; and the advantages inherent in Xfinity Mobile.”

Comcast also operates Central Pennsylvania Xfinity Stores in HanoverHummelstownLebanon, Harrisburg, ChambersburgMechanicsburgState CollegeLancasterWilliamsport, Wyomissing, and York – part of a network of 30 Xfinity Stores throughout the Keystone Region. Xfinity Stores range in size up to 4,000 square feet and are located in shopping destinations already familiar to local customers. In addition to receiving product demonstrations, customers can ask our experts about their current services or devices, learn how Xfinity apps make it easy to manage their account, sign up for all Xfinity services, pay bills at kiosks, return or acquire equipment and purchase accessories for mobile devices like cases, screen protectors and power supplies as well as smart accessories for the home. Customers can also go online to www.xfinity.com/support, click “Visit an Xfinity Store” and make an appointment.
