Comcast Receives Award from United Way of the Shippensburg Area

Last week, Comcast received the George Bailey Award from the United Way of the Shippensburg Area in recognition of our campaign efforts last year.  The award was presented to Technical Operations Supervisor Jeff Luchenburg, who serves on United Way of the Shippensburg Area’s board of directors by Matt Cramer, Board President.

The George Bailey Award is based on the unselfishness of George Bailey, a character in the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life.” It’s given to a local individual or company that exemplifies Bailey’s characteristics.

Next month, Comcast’s Keystone Region will kick off its United Way employee giving campaign with activities throughout the region, including a fantasy football fundraiser, food trucks, a cornhole tournament and raffles.  The campaign’s focus will be to encourage employees to commit to regular donations through payroll deduction, allowing them to designate local non-profits throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland if they prefer.
