Comcasters wear purple to support Spirit Day

Comcasters throughout the country celebrated Spirit Day on October 19 as a way to bring awareness to LGBTQ bullying and standing with LGBTQ youth, who disproportionately face bullying and harassment because of their identities.

Comcast’s OUT@Comcast Employee Resource Group encouraged employees to pledge to “go purple” on Spirit Day to visibly show solidarity with LGBTQ youth and to take part in the largest, most visible anti-bullying campaign in the world.  “Comcast is focused on developing a workplace environment that is aware, inclusive and productive for everyone,” said Jeff Luchenburg, OUT@Comcast Lead for Comcast’s Keystone Region.  “Spirt Day is just one example of how our LGBTQ employees feel supported every day by our straight allies at work.”

In addition to Comcast’s commitment to being an employer of choice, XFINITY TV also offers the best TV experience for LGBTQ content.  Customers can see curated collections of TV shows and movies, including “I am Jazz,” “Disrupted,” “Tomgirl,” “Alaska is a Drag,” and “Compared to What? The Improbable Journey of Barney Frank.” Movie collections include the 28th Annual GLAAD Media Award Winners, International, Cult Classics and Love Stories.

The X1 Voice Remote makes it easier than ever for XFINITY customers to say “Watch RuPaul’s Drag Race,” “Show me more like Transparent” or “Find Laverne Cox” to search for shows, view recommendations and more.  Visit my.xfinity.com for more information.
