Comcast’s regional employee resource groups (ERGs) hosted a diversity seminar recently at the Army Heritage Museum in Carlisle. The event brought together members of the Veterans Network, Women’s Network, OUT, Unidos, BEN and the Young Professionals Network to hear Carol Eggert, Comcast’s Senior Vice President, Military and Veteran Affairs, and Charles D. Allen, Associate Professor of Leadership and Cultural Studies at the U.S. Army War College. Both play integral roles in building an inclusive company culture and driving meaningful change in the communities they serve.
A Challenge Grant offered by Comcast’s Military & Veteran Affairs team made this joint ERG event possible by providing funding to help facilitate a one-day seminar providing attendees with the opportunity to explore leadership, diversity and inclusion as well as provide time to network with various organizations and ERGs. Thirty-three employees were selected to attend the event based on an online application expressing their overall interest and execution.
ERGs are important to the health and growth of employees as well as to Comcast. Bringing the ERGs together provides, we learn from each other and become better ambassadors to build an inclusive and diverse workforce.
